Our house in 1120 Vienna also impresses with its proximity to the many well-known Viennese sights.

VIENNA STATE OPERA

International & historical

The State Opera was opened in 1869 and is one of the most important opera houses in the world. The building is located in the center of Vienna around the 1st district directly on the famous Ring Street.

One of the most famous events of the Staatsoper is the annual Opera Ball, which attracts personalities of art and culture every year.

The State Opera is easily accessible from the apartment. From Meidling station, take the Badner Bahn directly to the opera. From there you only have to cross the street and are already in front of the State Opera.

SCHÖNBRUNN PALACE

Imperial heritage

Schönbrunn Palace is the most sought-after attraction in Vienna. The entrance of the castle park is only about 700m away from the apartment and thus within walking distance.

Emperor Franz Joseph, Maria Theresa and the famous Empress Elisabeth (Sisi) lived in Schönbrunn Palace. Another highlight besides the castle itself is the beautiful castle park, which invites visitors to relaxed walks.

In addition to the Crown Prince Garden, this garden also houses the Orangery Garden and the Maze as well as the Palm House, the Tiergarten and the Desert House. Schönbrunn Palace with its impressive palace garden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

ST. STEPHEN'S CATHEDRAL

Vienna landmark

The world-famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral, affectionately called “Steffl” by the Viennese, is the landmark of the city of Vienna. The beginnings of the cathedral date back to 1137; however, the construction work itself took many years and the complete completion was only around 1587.

Due to the work and different construction steps, however, it is difficult to name a correct year of completion. The south tower of the cathedral with its height of approx. 136.4 meters is the highest tower of the building. The tower is also open to visitors and offers a beautiful view over the city center.

St. Stephen’s Cathedral, like the State Opera, is easiest to reach by train. From the terminus opera it is only about 10 minutes walk to St. Stephen’s Cathedral.

NASCHMARKT

Culinary diversity

The famous Viennese Naschmarkt is located in Vienna’s 6th district and is the largest inner-city market in Vienna. Its beginnings go back to 1780. Today, in addition to the classic fruit and vegetable stalls, you can also buy exotic spices or enjoy the rich gastronomy.

MARIAHILFER STRAßE

Shopping street No. 1

Mariahilfer Straße is the largest and most famous shopping street in Vienna. In addition to a large number of shops, gastronomy is not neglected. It is divided into the inner part (6th/7th district) and the outer part (15th district) and is interrupted by the belt. There are some interesting buildings on Mariahilfer Straße. In addition to the Museumsquartier, the Imperial Furniture Collection and the Technical Museum are always worth a visit. From the apartment you can reach the Mariahilfer Straße very easily. From Meidling station you can take the underground line 6 to Westbahnhof and from there start your explorations directly in the district of Mariahilfer Straße.
